Therapeutic Garden
A GP surgery which I designed many years ago for my wife, who wanted to develop “social prescribing” for the patients, in the form of a garden where they could meet once a week and grow fruit & veg. It had to provide for patients with mobility impairments, hence raised planters and plenty of seating. Her niece designed it and I worked up the complex geometry of overlapping radii. The garden is a hit with its users. The integral seating and the potting table are great for socialising. As they say “it’s nearly always tea time”

General view of the main planter/bench. The building behind was my last extension for the surgery. It is clad in sawn western red cedar.
